CAT Tales -I

Well if u have accidentally stumbled upon this blog while you were looking for tips on how to prepare for CAT, you have reached the wrong (IP) address.

I don’t intend to clutter the web more with tips on how to prepare (and crack) the CAT what with everybody and their cousins all too willing to dispense tips on the subject. So what is this blog all about. Well this blog is about stuff on how not to prepare for CAT. I am going to dispense gyaan on what is not the right way to prepare for CAT.

I will recount the days of my preparation for CAT, my MOCKing story, the actual exams and then the dreaded part, the results (of the written) and then the part which people neglect for most time of their preparation but which is the most important component of getting selected in a prestigious B-school, the interviews and then the final results!!!

Ok, now lets get this show on the road!!

First of all something about myself. Well as people say a cat has nine lives. Well in my case it just turned to be so prophetic. I had nine lives too. I had applied for 9 B-schools. Out of them 6 being the ones having those coveted double Is in their names. Other than that I had applied for XLRI (wrote XAT for that) and wrote FMS entrance exams. Besides I had applied for MDI, Gurgaon through CAT score. So these were my nine lives.

At the end of it all I scored 98.94 percentile in CAT. None of the IIMs bothered to call me. MDI was kind enough to call me. Secured 99.9 percentile in XAT and got a call from XLRI. I managed to get a call from FMS as well.

Finally I could convert FMS, XLRI and MDI. And I am all set to join FMS.
