CAT Tales -10 (The C-Day contd.)

Well as always I started the paper off with Verbal. Normally I attempted all the questions in English. However in the real thing I thought the Verbal part was quite tough and I found it tough to attempt even 21-22 questions out of 25 and probably that was where the whole thing ended for me(benefit of20/20 hindsight).

In fact the first quarter hour of the paper I had no clue what was happening? Anyways once I decided to move to the next section, that is Data Interpretation things began to look up for me (did they really?).

If I had done my chances any harm in Verbal I totally finished them off while attempting Data Interpretation. Though I don’t remember the exact questions but I missed out what was (as others told me later) the easiest set of the whole paper (good going Mr. Tyagi). If that wasn’t enough I spent a hell lot of unnecessary time on a set which didn’t require it.

Well contrary to my fears Quants didn’t present much of a problem (well you can only make as many mistakes). I attempted what I felt was a decent number of questions and then it was all over.

Those 2.5 hours for which yours truly had put in 5 and a half months were over and certainly it wasn’t a happy ending.

Anyways I decided to have a chat with my teacher after the paper (remember the guy in the same exam room as mine). He confirmed what I had suspected throughout those 2.5 hours. Verbal was pretty tough as compared to last year and Data Interpretation was very easy.

Well went back to the hotel, packed up my stuff and started on my way to the railway station to catch the next train back to Vellore. While on my way, reviews started pouring in. Met a lot of guys from my college at the station as well as on the train. Infact on the way back it just felt as if the whole coach had been hijacked by VIT junta. Everybody was pretty excited about their exam, but I knew without checking any keys that I can safely kiss my chances Good Bye!

Well just like my CAT story these CAT tales also come to an end with the CAT exam, but the whole story is far from over.

I may have lost the proverbial battle but the war was from over (been watching too many inspiring movies).

Life goes on. Read about the days spent in agony after CAT, preparing for XAT and FMS, their results and then the interviews and more in this new series called Life after CAT.

Wah!! Kya drama create kiya hai!! Is there an opening at Balaji Telefilms. I think I can apply.

P.S.- I had written this post long before I read perspective's comment on the previous one (interesting coincidence)
