Life after CAT - 2 (XAT)

Well I had my XAT exam center at Loyola College in Chennai.

Nothing unusual happened during the test. Again I tried to attempt most of the questions in English (you really cant expect to attempt all in a speed test) and was satisfied with my performance. Then it was time to move on to the Reasoning section and I found most of the reasoning caselets quite tough to crack. In desperation I attempted a lot of Business Decision Making questions.

Well the idea behind was 'if I am really going to do an MBA then lets start taking some hard decisions from now itself'

I thought Quants was OK, but then I never really trust my judgment as far as Quant goes therefore I tried to attempt as many as I could in Quants.

After the test duration of 2 hours, there was an essay to write in another 20 minutes. The topic of the essay was something like 'Gender Imbalances would lead to Third World War'. After writing a two hour test I don’t know how can anyone think and write an essay, I cant (at least not properly). I tried to put some sensible content in my essay (and failed miserably).

Well, that was all about my XAT. Mind you, this was on 6th Jan, with FMS next week on 13 and CAT result in the middle of the week.

Oops I forgot to mention something really funny that happened during my XAT exam. Well actually I didn’t want to write this in the first place but then if I don’t one of my friends would, so it is better if you hear it from me.

I almost had a false start for my XAT exam!! Actually the center was pretty close to one of the local train stations. As I was sitting in the exam hall waiting for the start signal, a train sounded its horn. Thinking that it was the signal to start I was about to tear off the seal to my paper when I realised my folly.

(Please, please don’t judge me by this )
