Life after CAT - 3 (Judgment Day)

Well hopes or no hopes here was the result. No matter how you have performed in an exam you still wait for the result with bated breath. So here was the judgment day.

If I am not wrong the result was to declared at 3 P.M. (or was it 4). I was all set, ten minutes before the result was to be announced I was there at the cyber café to see my result. As always happens in these kind of scenarios, there was too much traffic and therefore opening the result page took a hell lot of time.

When it did I saw the following

Verbal-> 97.97

Quants ->97.2

DI/DS->93.13

Total->98.94

Sorry your name does not figure in any of the IIM's shortlist

Well that was it. There it was. No calls. No matter how prepared I was for any kind of result, it still came as a shock. To say that I was disappointed would be a huge huge understatement.

Well my CAT journey had come to an unhappy ending. It was going to be another time, another year for me( or so I thought at that stage).

As for others' Sripriya was the only one who got a call and what a call it was, IIM Bangalore.

Well once I told my result to Dad, he still sounded cheerful. According to him it was still a good result and he felt that it should give me confidence for the FMS exam which was coming up. How much I wish I could share his optimism.

I was down and definitely out of the race (as I saw it then). It was the end of the road for me. I could only see dark clouds on the horizon and no silver lining.
