Life after CAT -4 (FMS-Chance for redemption)

The last exam of the season for me was here, FMS. I didn’t give myself much of a chance because of the state of my mind.

Although the FMS pattern suited me to the hilt. 120 minutes to do 175 questions. But after the result my confidence was at its nadir. Moreover the exam timings were from 2 to 4 P.M.

No matter how silly it sounds I don’t like tests in the afternoon. Afternoons are meant for Siesta and not for exams!!!

My center for FMS exam was MGR Janaki (Girls) College. Through this blog I make a sincere appeal to all the colleges not to hold exams in Girls Colleges. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out why. Its really a headache looking for toilets.

Well the paper was quite different from previous years' FMS papers. It had four sections. One had lots of RCs, another was Quants and there was this section which was based on English usage and probably the most interesting of the whole paper.

Well if you had asked me just after the paper, I would have expressed disappointment over the paper. The reason being that while in all the mocks I had been easily attempting 120-130 questions out of 175 whereas in the actual exam though I didn’t have an actual figure I was sure that I had not attempted more than 110 questions. So that was enough to dishearten me. Despite knowing that the paper was actually a bit tougher than last year's paper on whose model the MOCKS were based I was still disappointed.

Well I had lost all hopes by then. Even though after checking all the keys for XAT, my performance seemed OK but I was not ready to count my chickens so early. And after FMS I was planning to just while away the remainder of the semester and start preparing for CAT next year with the job.

It was time to concentrate on my final semester project which I had been neglecting for quite some time.
